Dear Judy:

- Paris and Rory prepare to graduate and contemplate life after Chilton.
- Rory asks Jess if he's coming to her graduation and he uses Shane as an excuse to get out of it.
- At Friday night dinner, Richard offers Chris a job if he ever decides to move back to the area. 
This makes Lorelai uncomfortable.
- Shane tells Jess off for using her to hurt Rory. She finally gets Jess to admit that he's miserable 
pretending to be Rory's friend and the only reason he's kept the act up was to make her happy. Shane 
says that by not going to her graduation he's ruining the whole thing.

Lorelai, We Have a Problem:

- Lorelai confronts Chris about his plans to move back to the area. She says that she can't stop him 
from doing so, but it's not something she feels comfortable with at this point in time. He tells her 
he understand and he's not planning to move back anyway.
- Rory thanks Lorelai for always being there.
- Lorelai cries to Luke about Rory graduation and going off to college.
- Luke and Jess say their goodbyes.
- Lorelai panics about everything going perfectly on Rory's Graduation day. But there's a small 
hiccup when Chris's car is out of gas.

Graduation Day Pt. 2:

- Lorelai, Luke, Chris, Richard, Emily, Sookie, Jackson and Lane are all there to see Rory graduate.
- Shane leaves.
- Jess decides last minute to go to Rory's graduation and makes it there just in time to see her 
accept her diploma.
- Paris notices Rory's smile when she sees that Jess is there and tells Rory she's an idiot if she 
lets him leave.
- Rory asks Jess to come to the graduation party they're having at the Inn, and he agrees.

Take My Hand, Take My Whole Life Too:

- The town gathers at the Inn to hold a graduation party for Rory.
- Lorelai makes a speech, thanking people for coming and helping out and being there for her and 
Rory. She starts to propose to Luke but he figures out what she's doing and stops her so he can 
propose to her. She says yes.

Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow:

- Jess is about to leave the party when he sees Rory alone. He goes over to ask her what she's 
thinking about and she admits the real reasons she broke up with him.
- Jess takes Rory's confession badly and is angry at her for not giving him a chance to make things 
right. He leaves. 
- Luke and Lorelai witness the end of the fight and Luke gives Lorelai the keys to the diner so that 
Rory can let herself in if Jess refuses to talk.
- Lorelai tells Rory she can't try to predict the future and she has to let go and experience life.
- Rory goes to the apartment and tries to talk to Jess. He tells her he can't just be her friend. She 
asks him not to make her go home, because she's not ready to say goodbye. So he agrees to let her 
stay the night.
- While watching TV they end up kissing.
- Lorelai goes to see Chris and apologize for getting engaged right in front of him. He says it's ok, 
and he was more surprised that they hadn't been engaged when he got there.
- Rory and Jess talk about what's going on between them. Rory says she doesn't know how she's going 
to feel when he's gone. But he's there now and she loves him and she's missed being with him.
- Jess leaves the next morning without saying goodbye.
- Rory wakes up alone and finds a note Jess left. In it he apologizes for not waking her, and thanks 
her for being honest. The P.S. says 'See you in September.
- Rory goes home to get ready to leave for Europe.
- She and Lorelai say their goodbyes to Luke and head for the airport.
