Wait and See:
- Luke goes to find Lorelai and tells Jess to get Rory and take her to the hospital.
- Lorelai is taken to hospital and they find out she has a ruptured spleen and broken ribs and needs
an operation.
Nothing to be Scared Of:
- Emily and Richard come to the hospital.
- Lorelai comes out of surgery and everyone is positive she'll be fine.
- Jess leaves the hospital when Rory goes in to see Lorelai. He goes to the apartment and opens one
of his college acceptance letters. It's from a college in Boston and he got in.
Laughter is the Best Medicine:
- Luke finds Jess's college acceptance letters and he and Jess argue about why most of them are
unopened and why some of them are from colleges on the west coast or New York.
- Lorelai tells Sookie to go to the bank with Luke and get the loan so they can open their Inn.
- Lorelai is let out of hospital.
Stop the World I Want to Get Off!:
- Lorelai and Sookie buy the Dragonfly.
- The Chilton School Council try to find a band for prom.
- Rory finds herself struggling to keep up with everyone and everything.
- Liz tries to talk Jess out of going to college in California.
The Price I'm Willing to Meet:
- Rory continues to struggle with things.
- Lane and Dave break up over a petty fight and Rory convinces Lane to call Dave and fix things.
- Lorelai tells Emily they can't come to dinner because they don't have a car to get there. So Emily
brings her cook and maid to Lorelai's home and makes dinner there.
- Rory breaks up with Jess, telling him that she needs time to focus on other things in her life and
be alone for a while. He says he understands and they go their separate ways.
I Don't Mind Your Lies, So Keep On Talking:
- Rory doesn't tell Lorelai about her break up with Jess.
- Lorelai is surprised when she finds out that Rory is considering going to a college other than
Harvard.
- Rory and Jess have an awkward first meeting post-breakup in Doose's and Lane catches on to the fact
that they're not a couple anymore.
- Rory and Paris both decide that they're going to go to Yale instead of Harvard.
- Jess tells Luke that he didn't get into Southern Connecticut State, and when Luke suggests he stay
close to Stars Hollow and go to community college so he could stay with Rory, Jess tells him they're
not together anymore.
Bad Bands and Baseball Bitterness:
- Lorelai tries to talk to Rory about Prom but Rory reacts badly.
- Luke tells Lorelai that Rory and Jess broke up.
- Lorelai confronts Rory about the breakup and Rory tells her the same thing she told Jess.
- Taylor arranges a Baseball game and annoys Luke into signing up.
- Lorelai fakes injury to get Jess alone in the house and then she thanks him for not being the jerk
she'd thought he'd be and for taking care of Rory while they were a couple.
- Rory and Jess have a second, less awkward post-breakup meeting.
Take Me Out to The Ball Game:
- The Doose's Market Boys take on a team of Stars Hollow Business Owners in a baseball game.
- Sookie, Lorelai, Lane, Dave and Jess come to watch. Rory stays home to study. Jess ends up playing
after Dean makes a snide comment about him sitting in the bleachers with the women.
- Rory ends up coming to the game in the end and Dave ends up playing after Kirk passes out from
exhaustion.
- Rory and Jess flirt during a break in the game and Lorelai worries about them sending each other
mixed signals.
Estranged Couple Verbal Sex and Other McBealisms:
- Lorelai confronts Rory about her flirting with Jess and Rory denies that she was flirting. Lorelai
accuses her of having Estranged Couple Verbal Sex and an after sex glow.
- Luke tries to stop Lorelai from worrying about Rory and Jess.
- Rory worries that she's leading Jess on and asks Lane if she should talk to him about the
unintentional flirting. Lane says it would just make things more awkward.
- Jess gets a one way plane ticket from his father, so he can go to Venice Beach after Graduation. He
shows it to Luke and Luke gets mad. When Jess says he has nothing keeping him in Stars Hollow, Luke
tells him to go.
Things That Go Bump in the Night:
- Paris freaks out about things going badly with organizing Prom.
- Jess gives Rory a ticket to the Stars Hollow prom, because she and Lane always wanted to go. She
agrees that she and Jess can go as friends.
- After they both fall asleep watching a movie, Rory and Jess almost kiss but are interrupted by
Lorelai and Luke.
- Lorelai tries to get Rory to admit that she and Jess almost kissed but Rory denies it.
